The hair and makeup looks on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet were nothing if not dramatic, from Zendaya‘s all-white Louis Vuitton suit and wide-brimmed hat to Diana Ross’ long feather train and Dua Lipa‘s custom-made Chanel dress that was reportedly covered in over 45,000 crystals.

The same could be said for the Met Gala manicures, which also took their inspiration from this year’s theme –“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” – while the dress code for the event was “Tailored for You.”

That idea of individual tailoring certainly came to life in the sheer range of manicures on show. There were plenty of iterations of minimalist designs, from Sadie Sink and Gabrielle Union‘s nude soap nails to pared-back French manicures that let the lavish ensembles do the talking.

But some stars also ensured they were fashionable all the way down to their fingertips, and we guarantee you’ll want to save these manicures to your summer mood board.

Sabrina Carpenter‘s go-to nail artist Zola Ganzorigt served up a masterclass in monogram manicures. Mirroring Sabrina’s Louis Vuitton outfit, she created a nude nail stamped with the LV designer logo on her ring finger, while delicate threads outlined the French tips.

Zola was also the mastermind behind Sydney Sweeney’s Met Gala 2025 mani. Picking up the diaphanous shimmer of her Miu Miu gown, Sydney’s soft pink nails (courtesy of OPI’s Bubble Bath and Bare My Soul nail polishes) also feature a cat-eye French tip and delicate hand-painted gold accents.

Ego Nwodim

Ego Nwodim’s manicure officially brought fun and colour to the proceedings. There’s been plenty of matchy-matchy manicure-outfit inspiration on the red carpets recently but Ego has just raised that bar. Her nail artist Betina Goldstein first painted her nails an inky black shade before adorning them with a rainbow button design, to match those on the sleeve of her Christopher John Rogers peplum suit.

Also leaning into the matchy-matchy vibe was Chappell Roan with hot pink nails and light-reflecting silver star details on the tips created by manicurist Dawn Sterling.

Halle Bailey

The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey served up nails that were just as dazzling a detail as her beaded net veil and glittery blazer dress. Nail artist Temeka Jackson complemented the look with created an elaborate black and white French manicure, complete with rhinestone decals.

Joey King

Celebrity nail artist Thuy Nguyen picked up the dandy theme – and the details on Joey King‘s shirt by creating an eye-catching brown and gold polka dot design on her ring finger and a black and white check design elsewhere.

Lupita Nyong’o

And if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, the ever fashion-forward Lupita Nyong’o co-signed summer’s biggest manicure trend – Tiffany blue nails – by matching her tips to her entirely monochromatic outfit, complete with floor-grazing cape, in the same pastel blue-green shade.
